SUSAN TAYLOR'S ICONIC MAPLE LEAF DESIGN. The Maple Leaf on this coin was designed by former Royal Canadian Mint Senior Engraver Susan Taylor. Her design replaced the famous Walter Ott design in 2022.

Hundreds of micro-engineered, precision-engraved, sub-millimeter-scale surfaces have been struck into the fields of this coin in such a manner that the boreal forests of Canada seem to rise from their surfaces as the coin is rotated. These Maple Leaf coins were struck by the Royal Canadian Mint in Ultra High Relief (UHR) with detail so intricate that the designs seem like they're leaping from their surfaces. Each Maple Leaf Ultra High Relief Pulsating Forest coin was struck in five ounces of highly pure 99.99% silver and measure 65.25 mm in diameter.
